Pastor DeShonda Bailey is a native Floridian who was born and raised in the South Florida area. She is the wife of Minister Joel Bailey to whom she has been married fifteen years and they have one daughter. Although Pastor Bailey has known for many years that God had a call on her life to Pastor, it was recently that God stirred up an urgency in her to launch out and plant a church. In obedience to God’s instruction, Pastor Bailey decided to walk by faith in her calling and with the support of her husband who is her greatest encourager and supporter, the ministry of New Hope Christian Worship Center was birthed.

Pastor Bailey answered the call of salvation while attending law school and shortly thereafter, God called her to the ministry of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a licensed and ordained minister as well as a licensed attorney who holds a Bachelor Degree, Juris Doctor Degree, and Master of Theology Degree, Dr. Bailey has consistently served the South Florida community for over 20 years. In that period, Dr. Bailey has been instrumental in birthing ministries including a young adult ministry and single’s ministry, served on numerous ministerial boards both in the local church and at the state level, taught in a variety of ministerial settings, and helped organize conferences both on the state and local levels. During her Christian journey, Pastor Bailey has also served as a Senior Associate Minister, Assistant Pastor, and Interim Pastor. As an attorney, she has served the tri-county South Florida area as a criminal prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, civil litigator and transaction attorney. In addition, Dr. Bailey has held numerous seminars both as an attorney and minister including estate planning, marriage and leadership seminars, to educate and empower the community and body of Christ.

As a teaching pastor, God uses Pastor Bailey to deliver the Word of God in a practical life-transforming way that provides insight and understanding. She is a firm believer that when you understand God’s word, you can apply it to your life, and if you can apply it, you can live it. As it is written in Proverbs 4:7, “in all thy getting, get understanding.” Pastor Bailey believes that everyone can live a victorious life through Jesus Christ and knows that regardless of a person’s status or position in life, regardless of their mistakes, and regardless of the challenges and obstacles facing them, there is hope for them through faith in and obedience to Jesus Christ.
